On January 14, local teachers participated in a math workshop by Brad Fulton, a well-loved and amazing presenter and educator. Harney ESD provided the training at the Regional Services Center.

If it's a Wednesday afternoon in October, you will likely find Raime Stoddart, Carlee Stutz, and a group of our rural teachers and students tuned in to their weekly survival unit. Raime and Carlee coordinate the class through Google Classroom, along with instructor Lisabeth Hassler.

Thanks to a cooperative effort by community members, Diamond Elementary School now has a new sign to display current and upcoming events at the school.

In April, Harney ESD, along with High Desert Partnership, OMSI and GO-STEM, presented an outdoor activity called Fair in the Field. The event was held at the Owens Farm hay field and shop area.

The employees of Harney ESD were unanimous in submitting Superintendent Shannon Criss' name for the annual Chamber of Commerce award of Boss of the Year. Shannon's nomination was also fully supported and encouraged by our Board of Directors. The award was announced as a surprise to Shannon at this month's board meeting. Many family members tuned in remotely to witness the announcement. There will also be a celebration at the Chamber of Commerce's Community Center on January 23 at 4:00 p.m. Congratulations, Shannon, for this well-deserved honor!
